Maxwell Healey is a Cartoonist, Illustrator, and Educator

Max graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2021 with a Fine Arts degree, specializing in Comic Art. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Creative Writing for Children and Young Readers at Hamline University.

Living in the Twin Cities, Max works full time in Public Education Special Education. He has a passion for storytelling and what stories we choose to tell our children, hoping to add more queer and nuerodiverse voices to the pool of storytellers himself. He has also taught for a handful of local arts nonprofits, including the East Side Arts Council, The History Theater, and MIA as a Teaching Artist.

Beyond work, he has a passion for fantasy and myth in books, video games and animation. He spends his free time exploring fantastical worlds at home with his two cats Echo and Vesper, as well as the ever fantastical natural world in Minnesota’s’ many wonderful state parks.
